At Friends of Seacoast Shores, we are dedicated to advocating for inclusivity and fairness in our community. We believe that every voice matters, and we strive to protect the rich history and diversity of our neighborhood.

FOSS is hosting a "Trunk" or Treat event at Bayside for our local Seacoast kids on October 31. We're all about inclusion and don't want to miss the summer students, so we're also conducting a photo contest for local and summer kids with cash prizes.

Joe and Pearl Fraser’s legacy at Seacoast Shores is a testament to the timeless joy of ordinary families finding their own slice of heaven on Cape Cod. In 1948, drawn by the promise of sandy beaches and quiet summers, Joe and Pearl purchased a parcel of land just beyond Falmouth, at a time when private cottage sites were advertised for as little as $295—a dream within reach for hard-working folks looking to build memories as much as homes. A family affair, Joe's brothers bought lots on the same street.
By 1950, Joe and his brothers began constructing their cottages, working with their hands and heart, embodying the spirit of countless Cape Cod families whose happiness was found not in grandeur but in togetherness, sea breezes, and laughter shared across picnic tables. They cleared the lots and built 4 summer cottages all next to each other which took many years to complete. The families would stay in an Army tent on weekends, while the brothers were hard at work building.
Joe and Pearl's cottage still stands today, lovingly maintained by his daughter, and now serves as a gathering spot for new generations. It's a living reminder that paradise on the Cape isn't reserved for the privileged few, but for anyone who treasures simple pleasures—a morning walk along the shore, a backyard clambake with neighbors, and stories swapped by lantern light.
The neighborhood has changed over the years, but the heart of Seacoast Shores persists thanks to neighbors who work to preserve community, inclusion, and the right of ordinary people to savor the land and water. Joe and Pearl's story—of family, hard work, and summer magic—embodies the mission: standing up for a Cape that belongs to everyone, where every river and beach welcomes children and families to find their own slice of happiness.

Your generous donations help us continue our mission to advocate for inclusivity and support all members of our community. Every contribution counts and makes a significant impact on our initiatives. Join us in preserving the rich history and fairness of our neighborhood.
